Cast lead alloy button of probable medieval date (1300-1550 AD). The button consists of a circular domed (D sectioned) head, with an integral cast shank set at 90º to the angle of the head. The shank has been broken at the junction with the head. This break is relatively old as a patina has formed over it. The domed head of the button is abraded and unsymmetrical – if it had been decorated or had a applied finish no evidence for this now survives. At the narrowest terminal is a cast suspension loop (diameter 6.4mm). The purpose of this hole is uncertain but it might have aided safe-keeping and storage. As the sides of the weight flares the thickness of the weight also increases, however, at the base it tapers to form a rounded base. An incomplete unifaced cast lead alloy token of probable late medieval / post-medieval date (1400 - 1650). The design on the upper face is off centre and depicts a crudely formed single mast ship with a hollow hull with a single central pellet (possible forming a rose). It is likely that this design is a direct copy from a rose noble (gold coin dated to the later medieval period). The reverse is plain. The token is sub-circular in plan and measures 18.8mm diameter is 2.9mm thick, and weighs 4.71 grams.

An incomplete unifaced cast lead alloy token of probable late medieval / post-medieval date (1400 - 1650). The design on the upper face consists of a central pellet around which four evenly spaced concentric raised circles are present. The reverse is plain. The token is sub-circular with a small casting lug or knop on the edge of the disc. This suggests that the tokens may have originally been cast in strips and divided later. The token measures 29.1mm length, 14.7mm width, is 2.3mm thick, and weighs 3.19 grams.

The piece appears to be a fragment from a circular disc and is similar in style to a number of Roman objects including circular mounts (see N.Crummy, 1983, p118-9) and 2nd century disc brooches (see R. Hattatt, 2000, p. 345-346). At the centre of the upper surface is a raised circular cell (now empty) and, extending outwards from this, a series of concentric grooves.
