Incomplete Medieval cast tin alloy buckle, c.AD 1250-1500.
This is a single-looped, D-shaped buckle with a scooped reverse face. There are no notches on the frame or strap bar where the pin would have sat. The frame is damaged with pieces missing and edged with old breaks. There is no evidence that the frame has a core of copper alloy that was tinned, suggesting an older Medieval date of this buckle. There is no decoration on any face of the frame.
