An incomplete spur strap fitting for a sword belt with an integral triangular plate. Post-Medieval. Length of surviving part 36mm, maximum width of plate 12.5mm and 2mm thick. Weight 2.94g. The plate is triangular in shape and has an integral ring hook for looping through the spur terminal. The upper face of the plate is convex - concave on the underside. In the centre of the plate are the remains of two iron rivets for attaching a strap. A parallel for this find is illustrated in Margeson 1993, 38, fig. 22, ref. 258, and has been dated by context, 1600-1700.

This object 20mm long, 10mm wide at the centre and 5mm thick overall, is a small gilt bronze fitting from a belt. Made of pressed sheet metal, it is domed in the centre, and the crest of the dome is cut away, making a hole. At either side are two smaller domed extensions each containing a very small iron pin for fastening the object to its receiving surface. As the object has been pressed out, the back is hollow. Solid cast examples similar to this shape are illustrated by Egan and Pritchard, Fig. 134.

An iron strap-fitting with two hook-like extensions which originally formed a loop, but now worn through. They are held together by a rivet through their fastening plates which are triangular in outline with double lobed or heart-like ends, tapering towards the point where the loop springs from them. The whole object is 27mm long overall, the loop 14mm in diameter and 3.2mm in the thickness of its prongs or band, and these set at 90 degrees to the two flat plates forming the strap attachment, which are 14mm long, 10mm across at the broader end(s) and 7mm thick, to receive a strap of som…

A copper alloy object. It is shaped like a wolf's head and has a large circular perforation running horizontally through the head. The details of the mouth, nose and eyes are picked out with moulded ribs and grooves. The ears are represented by two triangular expansions extending from the back of the head. The identification and dating of this object is uncertain. The regularity of the perforation would tend to suggest a post medieval date and it is possible that it is a fitting from a buckle or belt.

A copper alloy object, probably a post-medieval strap-fitting. The body of the object is oval and hemispherical in section. It has a circular suspension loop with a very small circular perforation. The suspension loop is separated from the body of object by a collar consisting of two moulded horizontal ribs. There is a small knob extending from the top of the suspension loop. The reverse of the object is plain. There is a small globular expansion at the base of the oval body. This may be the result of casting rather than an intentional expansion.

A copper-alloy decorative strap or belt fitting. It is triangular in shape, measuring 17mm by 20mm in size. Each corner is decorated with a pair of rounded protruding knops. There are slighly raised knops, roughly circular in shape on the front face and traces of gilding can be seen. Projecting from the back face there are two tapering attachment spikes, each one c6mm in lenght, bent over and ending in a point. These would have attached the decorative fitting to the strap or belt. This strap fitting is most likely to be post-medieval and 16th or 17th century in date.

A worn copper-alloy sword belt fitting. Measuring 41mm in length and 19.19mm in width. The plate is rectangular in shape with a shaped attachment edge and has two parallel iron rivets through it, one near to either end of the plate. The other terminal of the plate has a circular suspension loop to one side (the possible remains of another suspension loop opposite to the complete one also survive) and terminates in a hook. The loops would have fitted onto a belt and the hook onto a scabbard strap. This sword belt fitting is undecorated. It is most likely to be 17th century in date.

An incomplete and worn probable strap fitting, roughly triangular in shape, measuring 25.8mm in length and 14.7mm in width and flat. There are two parallel rivet holes, one near to each end. This object is likely to be a medieval strap fitting of some kind, or possibly part of a composite strap end or buckle plate, however, due to its worn and fragmentary nature it can not be identified any more specifically.
