A sherd of Alice Holt/Farnham grey ware. Pale buff-grey reduced fabric with abundant, well sorted quartz sand temper. The exterior surface dark grey to silvery grey and has several horizontal and diagonal burnish lines. A body sherd from a jar. The Alice Holt/Farnham industry was active from the 1st to 4th centuries, but the slightly metallic finish suggests this may be the later product of the industry (i.e. after c AD 200 - 250) It is hard fired and wheelthrown. A foot, the catchplate and part of the bow of a Roman copper alloy bow brooch. The bow is sub oval in cross section, is undecorated and tapers towards the foot. The catchplate survives on the reverse of the foot, the catchplate is broadly triangular in plan with a central perforation. The artefact is 27.55mm long, 10.95mm wide, 2.75mm thick and weighs 1.88 grams.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman (AD 70-110) Polden Hill type brooch of the Western Group. The wingspan is 30.95mm with two decorative grooves at either end. The side lugs are circular and pierced to hold an intact copper alloy axis bar, about which are eleven spring coils. The chord passes through a forward-facing lug at the top of the bow which has three grooves for decoration, the loop tapers to a point. Adjacent to the loop is a raised V. An incomplete Roman (AD 50-150) tinned copper-alloy Initial T-shaped brooch with hinge mechanism, missing the pin, the lower bow and catchplate. The brooch measures 23.25mm in incomplete length and weighs 9.79g. The tubular wings span 30.35mm. They are decorated to the front only with a double groove flanking each open end. To the reverse is a slot for the pin with the iron corrosion product in the slot. The bow projects in a shallow curve from the top of the wing. A fragment of a cast, copper-alloy beaded torc of late Iron Age-Roman date, c. 1-200. The fragment consists of a length of the torc with 5 beads of increasing size, from the first bead from the band/bar to the largest, where a break is found in the collar between beads. The first bead is oblong, while the 5th bead is circular, with a gradual transition in the shape of the beads from the 1st to the 5th, such that the 2nd and 3rd beads are somewhat wedge-shaped in profile to accommodate the curvature of the torc. A fragment of an early Roman copper alloy bracelet dating from the 1st-2nd century AD. The fragment represents a short rectangular strip of thin copper alloy, bent, and cracked at its mid point. The upper surface is decorated with two parallel lines of pin-point indentations. The surface of the metal is in good condition with a green patina. The fragment is 31.0mm long, 13.0mm wide, 0.8mm thick and weighs 2.3g. Examples of similar bracelet fragments are known from Colchester (Crummy 1983, 37, nos. 1586, 1587, fig. 40). on the Database , CAMHER-86CC72, and CAM-EF43C6.
