A very worn and corroded highly debased silver Roman denarius of uncertain Flavian emperor, with Eagle facing left on cippus reverse. Uncertain mint, c. AD 69-96. Reece period 4. According to the broad pictoral reverse type this coin could be dated to AD 75, AD 76 or AD 80-81, but further clarification is not possible due to the illegible legends on both obverse and reverse faces (cf. RIC vol. II, plate I, fig. 9)

A silver Roman coin; a denarius of Domitian (AD 81 - 96), showing Minerva on the reverse. The legends are not entirely legible, so the exact variety is unknown. See Sear Volume I number 2729 onwards. The soil conditions (presumably) have turned the coin orange and the corrosion is unusual.
