Copper alloy dress hook fragment, as kindly identified by Simon Maslin. Simon comments: ' this is a plate from a post medieval dress hook of Read (2008) Class A Type 2, with both side loops broken and missing the blunt hook or eye loop. The decoration is a spray of three flowers ( Read 2008 pages 170-171)'.
Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1650.

A complete Roman (AD 43--255) copper alloy Colchester Derivative, Harlow Mackreth 2011, 2.c. brooch with spring mechanism, the chord of which is broken (but complete). The brooch measures 43.92mm in length and weighs 12.27g.
The wings are C-shaped in cross-section (with a hollowed area for the spring) and span 23.68mm. They are decorated to the front with a single transverse groove flanking each end. Behind is a nine-coil spring, pin, axis bar and chord passing through a double-pierced lug. The lug has a 2mm wide transverse groove to the reverse.

Cast copper alloy spherical rumbler bell (crotal) of Post Medieval date. The bell comprises two hemispherical domes with a raised circumferential join. The upper hemisphere has two circular sound holes with a sub-square suspension loop projecting from the top between them. The curve of the bell continues under the loop aperture suggesting it was made using a detachable 'sprue-piece', this method was introduced in the 17th century. The lower hemisphere has a long, wide sound slit with circular holes at the ends. The remains of an iron pea remains inside the bell.
