Medieval or Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular double sided token of Powell type 1. The token has a raised design of a six petaled flower on one side and a five petaled flower or possibly figure on the other. The petals are pointed oval and on both sides there is a raised line border around part of the edge. It is 18.5mm in diameter, 4.2mm thick and weighs 7.16 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore difficult to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date (1250-1850 AD).

Lead Counter. Cast disc with relief decoration on both sides and a rounded rim. One face bears a crude rectilinear lattice pattern; the other bears a series of radial lines which intersect an inner circle, all somewhat haphazardly placed. The former recalls the form of a chequer board, so this object might be associated with accounting, or with a board game requiring the distinction of pieces. It might alternatively be a dole token handed out to the poor, as associated with the charitable functions of monastic houses. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1500. Diameter: 24.7mm, Thickn…

The upper side carries the design of a plain cross, reaching to the edge of the token, with a single pellet in each angle. This is probably intended to refer to coin designs (Powell type 14b).
