A worn silver coin that has been bent in half due to post-depositional damage. It has been examined by Dr. Luke Treadwell at the University of Oxford (pers. comm. via Dr. John Naylor), who notes that although most of the useful identifying features are now too worn to identify it does resemble a Samanid dirham of late 9th or early 10th century AD date.
