A complete cast copper alloy composite strap end dating to the Medieval period. The strap end consists of a rectangle which opens out into a circular panel with quatrafoil openwork decoration on one side. Attached to which is a spacer which is broadly rectangular in shape with rectangular protrusions at either side near the circular panel. This spacer terminates in a point. A copper-alloy base from a Roman seal box.
The artefact takes the form of a lozenge-shaped plate with a projecting lug on its two widest angles and a portion of the hinge at the back point. A low right-angled rim extends around the perimeter, located a short distance in from the edge of the plate. At each of the two wider angles there is a break in this rim, which would have accommodated the string. The plate has a lozengiform arrangement of four circular piercings.
Dimensions: 31.8mm long, 29.8mm wide, 4.4mm high. Weight: 4.75g.

Fragment of a Roman silver finger-ring of Henig type II comprising one shoulder and part of the bezel. A wide recess on the bezel may have originally held a gem, now missing. The shoulder is decorated with four parallel lines of small punch- dots running longitudinally around the band.

An incomplete Post Medieval cloth seal, circa 1500 AD -1700 AD. Only one half of the circular seal survives, on the back of which is the remains of an integral rivet. On the surviving half is a motif in the shape of a pine tree. While on the reverse is the remains of an A which has a "T" top bar with an annulet above ,and a middle bar consisting of a downward pointing chevron.
"A"'s of this style denote that the seal originated from Augsburg in Germany,where they were usually attached to fustians, (bales),of cloth before importation to Britain and other countries.

This has been folded ,and then secured by an integral rivet. On one side the letters and numbers CAR,SAY,83,in three lines above one another. A complete Post Medieval lead cloth seal, circa 17th century. The seal has been made from one piece of lead, which has been folded and then joined together with an integral rivet. Each folded half is roughly in the shape of the figure 8. On one side in three lines above one another, are the letters CAR, SAY, and a date of 1664. A cast copper-alloy seal matrix of Medieval date. It has a flat circular die with hexagonally faceted conical terminal that tapers to flattened, lozenge shaped suspension loop with central circular aperture. The die carries a single motif formed from a large letter I with crown above and branches to the side, within an inner circle. It measures 26.82mm in height, 16.21mm in diameter and 9.05g in weight.
A near identical seal matrix is published by Harvey and McGuinness (1996: fig. 88), who note that the use of single letters such as this probably represented the initial of the owner…

A cast copper-alloy end plate from a composite scale-tang knife handle of Post-Medieval date. One plate survives intact, the corresponding second plate and any other parts of the knife now missing due to old breaks. It is flat, sub-rectangular in form, expanding towards a rounded terminal end and with single central circular rivet holes at top and bottom that have extensive iron corrosion. It measures 49.30mm in length, 48.02mm in width, 3.24mm in thickness and 30.78g in weight. This fragment is of probable Medieval date, c.14th-15th centuries AD, if not slightly later.
