An incomplete cast copper-alloy object, probably a strap fitting or slide of Early-Medieval date. It has a flat rectangular plate, on the back face of which at either end are single integrally cast rectangular lugs that are missing their outer edges due to old breaks. The front face of the plate has extensive chip carved decoration. This comprises a rectangular border containing at its centre a band of punched pellet shaped motifs. A worn silver coin that has been bent in half due to post-depositional damage. It has been examined by Dr. Luke Treadwell at the University of Oxford (pers. comm. via Dr. John Naylor), who notes that although most of the useful identifying features are now too worn to identify it does resemble a Samanid dirham of late 9th or early 10th century AD date.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Anglo-Saxon/Early-Medieval ansate brooch. It is missing the pin, most of the catchplate and possibly the ends of the pin lug due to old breaks. The brooch is flat, rectangular in form with flattened rectangular terminals connected by a gently curving bow of the same width. Where the bow and terminals meet are the remains of small semi-circular or sub-rectangular knops projecting from each side of the brooch. An incomplete cast copper-alloy pin of possible Anglo-Saxon date. Only the head and part of the upper shaft survive intact, the remainder of the object missing due to old breaks. The head is hollow, polyhedral in form with 14 faces and originally cast in two halves that have been soldered together, a band of solder remaining visible around the circumference of the head. A complete cast copper-alloy finger ring of Medieval date. It is circular in shape and in section and the terminals taper to a point. There is no decoration but it is very worn. It measures 21.22mm in diameter, 4.28mm in thickness, and weighs 3.74g.
Similar late Anglo-Saxon finger rings have been found elsewhere in Suffolk in Fressingfield, see SF-10850 and SF-2B1A88 and Freckenham, see SF-2AFE75.

An incomplete, slightly worn and corroded copper-alloy hooked tag of Early Medieval date, c. 7th-12th century AD. The tag is triangular in plan and flat in section, and at the lower point of the body has the slight remnants of a hook which would have extended substantially. The tag has three circular perforations, or attachment holes along the upper edge, with extremely shallow scratched lines tracing the left edge of the tag and along the top; the lack of these markings on the right suggest a slight loss of the original edge. Early Medieval copper alloy Small Long Brooch, 44mm long, 35mm wide and 6mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition and weighs 11.31grams. The brooch is complete except for its foot. An fragment of Middle Early-Medieval (720-900) copper alloy polyhedral-headed pin, consisting of the head and top of the shaft only. It measures 14.73mm in length and weighs 1.4g.
The head (8.25x5.95x5.77mm) is in the shape of a cube with the corners cut off, and each cube face is decorated with a ring-and-dot stamp. Some facets, particularly towards the top of the pin, are badly worn and/ or corroded. There is apparently no collar below the head.
The shaft is circular in cross-section and measures 1.77mm in diameter. It bends slightly before the break.

A fragment of Early Early-Medieval (500-600) copper alloy gilt small square-headed brooch, consisting of the headplate and small portion of the bow only. It measures 13.11x15.35x5.24mm and weighs 1.9g.
The headplate measures 15.35x8.34x2.03mm (without lug). At the centre of a sunken rectangular area are eight raised vertical ribs, the group being flanked with a rope-effect rib, decorated with transverse grooves. The gilding is mostly retained except on the vertical ribs.

An early-medieval (late Saxon) copper-alloy hooked fastener belonging to Read's early medieval Class A, Type 1, single sharp-hooked clasps. The tag has been cut from a sheet, with the apex of the triangle recurved to form the (now squashed) hook.
The fastener is triangular with a transverse groove at the junction of hook and plate and a pair of attachment holes at the other end, one abraded through. A very corroded copper alloy brooch, of uncertain date but possibly Early Medieval.
The brooch consists of a central elongated oval panel with an arm or protrusion one side, ending in a circular, flat knob. The protrusion has been broken on the other side. There is a tapering bow and the remains of the head remaining, but in poor condition with a broken attachment loop at the top. There are two parallel, raised ridges below the cenral panel.. It is possibly a part of a cruciform brooch.

Description and Dimensions: Silver disc brooch, 49.5-50.0mm in diameter,with extensive niello inlay. The edge is decorated with bold beading, each bead oval and about 1.5mm across. The beading is interrupted at one point (the 'top' of the brooch) by two longer curves with a point in between; in each of the curves is a small circular hole, perhaps to take a suspension loop. The holes may originally have been c. 1.7mm in diameter, but are now largely blocked by iron corrosion.

The pin has a solid globular head (10.5mm long, 8.4 in diameter) with a flattened top and slightly tapered base. the head is decorated with dot and ring motifs all over the surface and one on the flattened top. The shank is circular in cross-section and has a small collar below the head. The shank (53.4mm long, 2.7mm in diameter) tapers towards a point but terminates in an old break.
