An incomplete copper alloy seal matrix dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1600-1800).
.The die is oval shaped, with a small groove around the inner edge and central motif in the form of a swan standing right. Integral to the top of the die is the handle which is now missing, a small oval stub remains.

Copper alloy brooch. Aesica brooch, as kindly identified by the finder, Mackreth type AES 4.a. Plain cylindrical wings clenched behind retain an axis bar for a hinged pin [stub only]. The wings are met by a broad bow of flattened D-section which expands to a rhomboid mid-bow element with central longitudinal ridge. A waist or collar separates this from a fantail foot divided into three triangular panels, the central one standing proud and with a possibly arrowhead-shaped central cell which may retain a spot of [now] dull red enamel. Lead pot mend. A large cast plug to mend a hole in a vessel wall of thickness 4mm. The inner side of the plug [as poured] bears a scratched graffito resembling a kite, with a central cross for struts. The finder kindly suggests this may represent a mitred face, though there are no features to suggest eyes, mouth or nose.. Patinated. The neat finish might commend a Roman date. Copper alloy unidentified objects. Two similar cylindrical objects of sheet metal (a and b), apparently rolled with butted seams, and both bearing groups of two or four neatly circumferentially incised lines. The finder reports the objects were closely associated if not interleaved. Similar objects have been speculatively identified as needle cases of late medieval date or more authoritatively as ramrod pipes from muskets of early post-medieval date, albeit the construction seems rather light for the latter usage. A fragment of the pivot from a cast copper alloy pair of post medieval (AD 1600 - AD 1700) scissors or similar utensil, with elaborate curved detail. The object could possibly be from a wick trimmer, tongs or candle snuffer and has a rounded arm or loop which is narrow with a rounded cross section with a notch and a small flanking projection at the rear edge. A small rectangular plate of sheet metal of thickness 0.5mm, haphazardly folded, and drilled with two holes of diameter 2.4mm which [just] pass through both sides of the plate. Dark fibrous material trapped in the fold might be a trace of degraded leather to which the object was attached, or may alternatively be fibrous roots.
