An incomplete copper-alloy disc brooch, dating from the early part of the Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) period. Just over half of the disc remains, the rest having been lost in antiquity. At the middle of the flat upper surface, there is an incomplete punched ring-and-dot mark, with two concentric grooves around a central perforation. This central mark was originally surrounded by a ring of further such marks, three of which occupy the perimeter of the remaining portion of plate. A flint end scraper probably dating from the earlier part of the Neolithic period (c.3500-2500 BC). The scraper is quite large and has been made on a primary flake of grey-blue flint, with the dorsal surface retaining over 95% outer cortex; the cortex has been flaked away to create the scraper edge. There appears to be no or very limited retouch on the ventral side. The lack of preparation of the flake suggests the tool was made quickly for a specific purpose and may have been disposed of soon after use.

A cast copper alloy strap slide or loop dating to the Post-medieval period. The strap slide is rectangular in both plan and section with a U-shaped cross section. The upper face of the strap slide is decorated with punched crescent and lozenge-shaped motifs intended to be floral in appearance. The reverse of the strap slide bears the remnants of iron pins or studs that would have secured the slide; the slide was used to contain the end of a strap, much like a modern belt loop. The style and design on this strap slide suggests a later post-medieval date of between the 17th and 19th cen…
