A small Neolithic stone axehead. The axe head is wedge shaped with a curved blade. The haft, body and blade edge have all been subject to damage; that on the blade edge appears recent. The axehead is 81mm in length; at the blade end 43mm in width and at the haft end 22mm in width. The stone is greenish blue in colour.

A fragment of the head plate and part of the bow of an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch dating to the sixth century AD. The head plate is rectangular. The central panel is decorated with a central stamped ring and dot motif. The wings are bounded by a vertical border of stamped circles. Where the wing and side knob meet, there is a further row of stamped circles. A copper alloy object, likely to be a Bronze Age awl. One half of the awl is circular in section and terminates in a rounded point; the other end is rectangular in section and tapers to a flattened terminal. The awl measures 49mm in length and 5mm in width. The patina is deep green and the surface of the awl is corroded in places.

A copper alloy buckle plate with forked spacer dating to the fourteenth or fifteenth centuries. The buckle frame is oval, D shaped in section and has a small central lip on which to rest the pin. One of the arms of the forked spacer is missing, as are the sheet plates. The buckle is similar to 324 in Egan and Pritchard (1991). The patina of the buckle is dark grey with green suggesting some gun metal content? The length of the buckle plate is 41mm; the width 23mm and its thickness 3mm.

A possible copper alloy handle from a Roman razor or knife. The handle is in the form of a leg and foot. The leg is oval in section and extends to a hemispherical section foot with flat base. Moulded decoration representing an open leather sandal is visible on the foot. A circumferential rib is visible on the leg, perhaps representing the top of a sock. The handle measures 26mm in length. The foot measures 21mm from back to front. The width of 6mm.

An ivory? chess piece, thought by Dr Irving Finkel to be a nineteenth or twentieth century replica of BM78, one of the kings from the Lewis Chess set. The piece is burnt and discoloured as a result of burning. It depicts a seated male figure with long beard, resting a sword on his knees. A gold bracteate of C type dating to the fifth or sixth centuries AD. It consists of a flat circular disc of gold sheet, 36mm in diameter, which has been folded almost in half, then one half's edge has been folded back on itself twice (forming a zig-zag in cross-section). The suspension loop has been torn off, taking a small part of the edge with it.
