A fragment of a medieval or post-medieval cast leg from a copper alloy cooking vessel, dating to 1250-1700 AD. The fragment is the broken off foot, which has a flat back and underside. Its front is convex, with a centrally projecting short vertical rib. It measures 28.2mm in length, has a width of 52.7mm, a thickness of 36.1mm, and weighs 221.3g. The surface of the foot is worn, and has traces of a hardened black pitch-like substance, probably soot and food debris.

A fragment of a Medieval-Post Medieval cast copper alloy Cauldron leg circa AD1250-AD1700. The fragment comes from the bottom of the leg, and includes its foot. The leg is rectangular in cross section, with bevelled corners. The surface of the leg and foot is undecorated. The surface of the leg's break point has a green patina, the rest of the fragment has a black pitch-like substance on its surface. The piece measures 18.6mm in height, 24.5mm in width, has a thickness of 13.9mm and weighs 37.4g. One corner of the foot is worn.

The foot flares outwards and thickens. The leg and foot have a rather indistinct central rib on their front. The underside is flat and shows signs of heat damage where it has melted slightly in places. The rest of the foot has been cast to form a three toe'd paw, which has a prominent central vertical rib. The surface of the break point has a green patina, while the rest of the foot has patches of a black substance, probably hardened pitch. It measures 47.6mm in length, 46.1mm in width, has a thickness of 24.9mm and weighs 177.0g. In fair condition.

The piece represents part of a straight leg, which shows a break surface at the upper end and is rounded and worn at the lower end. The front of the leg has a prominent central raised vertical rib. The surface of the metal is virtually coverered in a black hardened pitch-like substance. Apart from wear to its lower end, it is in fair condition. It measures 49.9 in length, is 36.2mm wide, has a thickness of 14.8mm and weighs110.9g.

An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval copper-alloy foot from a cooking vessel, judging by its size probably a cauldron. There remains a short length of a slim rectangular-section leg, which is broken just above the foot. The foot is crudely cast, and an attempt has been made to form it in the likeness of a three-toed paw. An incomplete Medieval-Post Medieval cast copper alloy Cauldron leg, circa AD1250-AD1700. The remains of the leg and foot have a flat back and are "D"shaped in cross section for their entire length. The front of the leg has the remains of a central raised ridge while the foot has three raised "toes" on its front. Apart from the surface of the break, the leg and foot have a fair covering of a black substance, possibly a hardened pitch. In fair condition, the piece measures 43.3mm in length, is 29.6mm wide, has a thickness of13.9mm and weighs 92.2g.

The foot is triangular in shape, with a single " toe" projecting which has lost its tip in antiquity. It has a green patina, and also some deposits of a black substance, which may be a hardened pitch. The object measures 40.0mm in length, 15.8 in width, has a thickness of 7.2mm, and weighs 36.8g.

An incomplete Medieval-Post Medieval cast copper alloy Cauldron leg, circa AD1250-AD1700. What remains is the foot, which has a flat back and base. Its front has a thick transverse rib at the point of break and a central short vertical rib. The piece resembles a human face, with prominent eyebrows and nose with puffed out cheeks! There is little in the way of patina, but evidence of a black pitch-like substance on its surfaces. In good condition, it measures 41.2mm in length, 51.0mm in width, has a thickness of 25.0mm and weighs 306.6g.

A fragment of a medieval to post-medieval cast copper alloy leg from a cooking vessel, c.1250-1700 AD. The object is what remains of its foot. Large and crudely cast, it has three toes,a narrow central one and two much larger outer toes. It is in poor condition, pitted and honeycombed with tiny holes, and with the back and base distorted where it has partly melted. This may be due to an attempt to recycle it in antiquity, or be due to accidental melting. It has traces of a green patina, but more of a black substance which may be soot or hardened pitch. The back of the leg is flat, while the front has three, small, raised oblong pellets across its instep. It measures 37.8mm in length, 50.2mm in width, has a thickness of 15.2mm and weighs 238.7g. The other two end at the front corners of the foot as two slightly pointed projections. In a worn condition, with a black deposit on the back of the leg and underside of the foot. The foot measures 29.5mm in length, 44.2mm in width, has a thickness of 12.3mm and weighs 136.0g.

A complete Post Medieval cast copper-alloy skillet leg, circa AD1500-AD1700. A triangular in section leg, which tapers from its top towards a rounded bottom. The top of the leg has a centrally extended point behind which is a concave shoulder. Both of these features were to help support the cauldron. The leg measures 89.5mm in length, 45.9mm in width, a thickness of 26.0mm and weighs 245.4g. Existing metal-work in good condition.

One complete,and three incomplete Medieval cast lead weights, circa 1200 AD - 1500 AD.
