A small plain double-looped oval buckle, cast in copper alloy. The buckle measures 23.3mm in length, 19.1mm in width, it is 3.7mm thick and weighs 3.17g. It is not quite symmetrical. The front of the buckle is convex and the back is flat. The central bar is slightly narrowed and the pin is missing. This simple style of buckle was used right through the Middle Ages and into the post-medieval period, so it is not possible to give it a more precise date (Cuddeford 1996, p. 20).
