A tiny cast copper alloy single loop buckle of early-medieval date. The D-shaped frame has a circular cross section and is thicker on the outside edge. It measures 13.63mm in length by 7.41mm in width by 2.21mm in maximum thickness. The pin is wrapped around the frame and tapers to a point. It is 8.6mm in length. The buckle weighs 0.78g. This simple form may date from the seventh to the ninth century (pers. comm. Kevin Leahy).
