A complete copper alloy barbarous radiate of the late third century AD, apparently copying Carausius (AD 286-93) (Reece Period 14). Obv; Radiate bust right. Rev; Figure standing left. The bust type on this example bares more than a passing resemblance to Carausius and the reverse type could be imitating PAX. This issue may be imitative of this emperor, thus dating to c. AD 286-93. most likely to the early part of the reign. This is an an unusual piece because copies of Carausian radiates are not normally this small. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.
