The brooch comprises a rectangular plate with a narrowed elongated trapezoidal foot to one end and an integral coiled spring to the other. The circular sectioned spring extends from the centre of one edge of the plate. Plain circular collars are present to either side of the skirt from which the main ring extends. Wreath crossed by bar with crescents at end obverse. Stylised horse with IISVP below. ABC, p.99, no.1917. ABC calls this ruler ESVPRASV, however IISVPRASV is how the name appears on the coins. They were struck between c.AD 30 and 50, in Lincolnshire and surrounding counties. Official coins of this type have the legend above the horse, though on this example, the text is below.
