Medieval copper alloy ring seal dating to the 15th century AD, consisting of a broadly circular band and central bezel. The band is 'D'-shaped section, with a flat inner and curved outer edge. The band expands to meet the bezel which is oval in plan. The oval bezel is decorated with an incised design of an ovoid frame which containing a letter R with a simple crown above and small lines or possible leaves around the sides of the R. The R is incised in reverse as the ring would have been pressed into a wax seal, causing the design to appear the right way. The ring measures 25.7mm long …

A late early-medieval cast copper-alloy openwork object of uncertain function dating to the 11th century. The object is cast as one piece, roughly triangular in plan and rectangular in section. The top is open. At the point it is expanded into a globular terminal which has an ovoid opening at the base, probably original. There is very worn traces of raised bumps on the terminal which may represent fruit or an animal head. The mount is a thick plate, roughly lozenge shaped in plan extending into a rectangular base with a projecting flange at the bottom which projects back at c.45 degrees from the plate. The lug is by the top point of the seal and is semi-circular in profile with an oval hole through it. The hole has worn through at the top edge. Complete, copper alloy purse bar dating from the late 15th to early 16th centuries. It is comprised of two separate pieces. The largest piece is a horizontal circular sectioned bar with large globular and circular knops on each end. The knops have two incised lines running horizontally around the circumfrence with a raised ridge in between. The end is marked with a transverse 'V' shaped groove. A fragment of a broken polished stone adze originally thought to be of Neolithic date, now thought to be a modern, Ethnographic, example. The fragment comprises of part of the blade end of the adze. It is now 'D' shaped in plan with a straight break along the width of the head and a convex curved cutting edge. Post medieval lead alloy cloth seal. Fragment of a two or four part seal consisting of the central plug of lead, circular in section with the front disk and a fragment of the back disc attached. The front is stamped with the portcullis with a B underneath, surrounded by a legend, now illegible. It measures 18.1mm in diameter and 4.6mm thick. It weighs 4.82g. The portcullis was "the main design for alnage seals in the late Tudor period... and continued in use into the early seventeenth century" (Egan 1995:9). Fragment of a Medieval (12th to 13th century) jug handle and one other vessel sherds in a similar fabric. Grey to mid buff fabric with greensand chert, coarse sand and limestone temper. The limestone is c.10% of the fabric and large, the largest piece being 5.6mm across but most is smaller than 3.6mm. The coarse sand is abundant, up to 25% of the fabric. Greenstone chert is an occasional inclusion (less than 5%) up to 2.5mm across. Cast lead vessel repair (pot mend). It is roughly oval in plan and H-shaped in section with two irregularly shaped outer sides, one larger than the other. In the groove created between the outer sides there are fragment of the original pot. The pottery has a bright orange fabric. The whole object measures 48.0mm long, 25.4mm wide and 12.4mm thick. It weighs 70.5g. Pot mends of this form are found in both Roman and Medieval periods, as a common way to repair broken pottery. The fabric appears similar to Medieval cooking pots although it is too fragmentary to be completely certain.
