Male part of a medieval copper alloy toggle clasp, probably from a sword belt, a flat-backed, gently curved and highly decorated bar with a T-shaped toggle terminal. This is hooked forward and projects from a transverse double-grooved moulding. Next to this is a scrolled motif which bears some resemblance to an Ionic capital. Between the scrolls a hole is blocked by the remains of an iron rivet. The "capital" rests on two transverse ribs decorated with oblique grooves, beyond which is an animal head with prominent ears, eyes and muzzle and a slight concavity on the reverse. A…

Sheet copper alloy buckle plate that has a slot in the forward edge for the pin. The artefact would have originally been folded in two, but the forward edge is truncated resulting in the loss of the lower plate. The top side is decorated with curvilinear lines that may depict a beast, however encrusted corrosion has made identification difficult.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Trumpet brooch of Roman date. The brooch measures 29.6mm by 13.7mm by 17.4mm and weighs 6.64g. It has suffered an old break as the leg begins; the leg and foot are missing, as well as the pin and its mechanism. It has a trumpet-shaped head with a protruding point corresponding to the spur of the loop on the lower surface. The loop is set at the base of the lower surface which is shallowly concave. A copper-alloy Medieval English jetton, c.1280-1343 AD. The obverse type is idential to Mitchiner, 1988: no. 196, but with differing reverse type not listed in Mitchiner. Obverse: Long cross fleurre dividing the legend, a star or crescent in each angle of the cross, all within a beaded border. Legend formed from pellets. Reverse: A voided cross pattee(?), a straight cross at its centre, three pellets at each the end of each arm, all within an inner circle. A border of letter C's or E's.

Copper alloy flat disc stamped on one face with 12 triangles in a circle, points facing inwards, around a very slightly raised circular moulding around a central rectangular hole. Plain on the reverse. There is a very small amount of possible decayed enamel on one triangle. The edges of the disc are certainly complete around most of the circumference but there are abraded patches which may be breaks. Diameter 20mm. Thickness 1.5mm. Weight 2.76g.
