An incomplete Medieval silver hammered short cross cut half penny of King John (AD 1199 - 1216). The coin is probably of class 5b2 (AD 1205 to AD 1207) but the poor surface condition prevents definite identification. Moneyer unknown. The coin has been cut in half and has a grey-black patina.
Obverse type: Crowned bust facing with sceptre. Obverse inscription: [HENRICVS]RE[X]. Reverse type: Short cross voided with four pellets in each angle. Reverse inscription: Illegible.
Reference: probably North 970.
Diameter 17.2mm. Thickness 0.76mm. Weight: 0.49g.

Three hone stone fragments, all with both ends missing and perhaps all medieval. Two are very short (35 and 39mm), of trapezoidal cross-section and affected by fire. The larger piece (length 184mm), of irregular ovoid cross-section and probably of Norwegian Ragstone. This stone was imported in quantity before the Conquest (Moore, D.T. and Ellis, S.E. in Rogerson and Dallas 1984, 107-11) and in Norfolk remained "the preferred material for hones during the late medieval period" (Mills, J.M. with Moore, D. in Shepherd Popescu 2009, 709). Combined weight 348g.

Goodall, I.H. in Biddle 1990, Type 3 or 4. The form of the bow is similar to that of Ward Perkins 1940, pl. XXX no. 33. 13th - 15th century.

Incomplete post-medieval moulded ceramic probable architectural fragment, now sub-triangular, both ends broken, octagonally cross-sectioned and apparently of constant thickness. The fabric is quite fine, streaky red, pinkish and off-white. Surfaces, where intact, are smoothly finished. There are several blow-holes or voids. Extant length 120mm. Width 23 - 71mm. Thickness 39mm. Weight 261g. Perhaps 17th - 18th century.
