A complete and worn post-Medieval cast copper-alloy spherical animal 'crotal' bell (1600-1800).
The sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top is about 8.3mm long, 11.0mm wide, 5.2mm thick and has a circular shaped aperture. The upper and lower hemispheres are divided by a prominent horizontal circumferential joining rib. At either side of the suspension loop, about half way down the side of the upper hemisphere, is a circular sound hole. One is larger than the other.
