A complete Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular biface token, c. 1550-1800 AD. Powell Types 2 and 14. The token has been cast with a raised design of a equal arm cross with a pellet at the center and in one quarter and a star in the three other quarters on the obverse and the letters I B on the reverse. The token measures 21.57mm in diameter, 3.52mm thick and weighs 6.9 grams. Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date (1250-1800 AD). A corroded and slightly bent cast lead token of post-medieval date with an indeterminate design above and below a central lateral band on one face with prominent central pellet, and a quatrefoil also with prominent central pellet (Powell type 1) on the other, in low relief.
