Cast copper alloy buckle frame, double frame made up of two conjoined oval loops the sides of which are decorated with projections each containing a circular hollow. On the face of the surviving loop is incised decoration consisting of two parallel lines with pairs of angled lines between them. Metal section flat. Dividing bar off-set. Condition good but damaged with most of one loop and part of the other missing. Buckles of this ornate form have been found in London in contexts dating from 1400-1450 (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, Fig. 51).

A copper alloy Roman headstud brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the head survives, and it is very worn and corroded. There is a vertical fin (pseudo forward hook) in the centre of the bow head, and below this an oval hollow with a rivet hole in the centre through which the separate head stud would have been attached. The bow has broken across the hollow and the break is patinated. The front of the wings are decorated with enamel, but only fragments of blue and possibly red survive and the original design is not visible. Part of an iron barb-spring padlock. The surviving piece represents the bolt, the padlock's internal mechanism; the cylindrical outer case and locking arm have been lost. The ends of two rectangular-sectioned springs sit within holes in the sub-circular end plate. One of these springs is barbed; these barbs, attached to the opposite end of the spring to the plate, extend backwards almost as far as the plate. The artefact is heavily corroded.
Dimensions: 82.3mm long, 35.7mm high, 35.1mm wide. Weight: 89.31g.

An incomplete copper-alloy nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade of Roman date (AD 43-200). This nail cleaner is a Crummy type 2a. The blade is of a pointed leaf shape, tapering gently from rounded shoulders where it terminates in an old break. There is a central groove incised into both sides of the nail cleaner. There is a circular suspension loop, set at right angles to the blade and separated from it by a baluster moulding.
The metal is a dark brownish green.

A copper alloy Post Medieval coin weight for the Scottish Thistle Crown of James I in its revalued state. The coin was in use from 1604 - 1619. The weight is circular. The obverse shows a crown over the value: IIII S / 4 D 1/2 (4 shillings, 4 and a half pence). The reverse shows a thistle flanked by I R. The weight is very worn and is now only 22.5 grains when it should be 31 grains. See Page 15 of Lions, Ships and Angels.
