An incomplete copper-alloy nail cleaner with moulded neck and shouldered blade of Roman date (AD 43-200). This nail cleaner is a Crummy type 2a. The blade is of a pointed leaf shape, tapering gently from rounded shoulders where it terminates in an old break. There is a central groove incised into both sides of the nail cleaner. There is a circular suspension loop, set at right angles to the blade and separated from it by a baluster moulding. The metal is a dark brownish green.
