An incomplete Early Early-Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) copper-alloy silvered sword pommel cap of the 'cocked hat' type (c. AD 400-c 600). The cap is rectangular in plan and pyramidal in form with sloping corners. It is concave on the underside. At each side the rivet holes are lost due to breaks. Each sloping corner is in the form of a pointed oval groove and each face has several small circular punch marks. One side has a large circular punched dot close to the apex. A complete, misshapen and slightly damaged post-Medieval gold mourning posy finger-ring of late 17th century date. Treasure case no. 2012 T539. The hoop is D-shaped in cross-section and the outer face has an engraved human skull. Inside the hoop an inscription in lower case reads: 'Not dead but sleepeth' The phrase is followed by the owner's initials in serifed capitals: 'KA' and a stamped maker's mark: 'R'. The maker's mark is very close to that on British Museum ring 1961,1202.421, where it is noted that the mark appears on the 1682 mark plate at Goldsmiths' Hall. …

A cast lead pot mend to repair a base, used to mend a Roman Central Gaulish black-slipped ware vessel dating to the late 2nd-century in order to lengthen the period of use after damage had occurred. It is broadly sub-oval in plan with a broadly flat base. The central section of the base has a concave recess. Three fragments of a Central Gaulish black-slipped ware rim or base are visible (the largest fragment is 28.7mm in length and 9.25mm high). A complete finger ring made from silver and dating to the Medieval period (15th-16th centuries). The ring is broadly circular in plan and rectangular section. There are four panels on the hoop, each rectangular in shape, with part of the undecorated hoop visible in between each. Two of the opposite panels are engraved in an iconographic style, depicting a standing figure looking towards the right. The other two opposite panels have floral engraved decoration. The ring is in good condition, with some wear and tear on the interior of the hoop.

An incomplete corroded cast copper-alloy strap fitting of post-medieval date. The object consists of two rectangular plates (30.95mm by 7.1mm) which narrow towards the top. The plates are joined and bent round such that they are parallel. The plates have a rectangular cross-section. One plate is at the terminal. They are joined together by a pair of rivets which survive, one towards the loop and one towards the terminal. At the join is a circular ring which is 11.45mm in diameter and 1.55mm thick.
