A worn and corroded 17th-century copper-alloy post-medieval rose farthing of Charles I, Type 2, Crescent initial mark, London mint (1636-1644 AD; North 2291). This coin has a brass wedge-shaped insert at around 12 o'clock put there to prevent counterfeiting.
