Bent silver bodkin, with a collared tear-shaped terminal, which contains a circular perforation. About 8 mm along the bodkin from the pierced circle and collar, there is a rectangular eye slot. The rectangular slot is 10 mm long and 7 mm beyond the end of slot, there is an incised letter or mark of a squared-off 'C'. On the opposite end the bodkin is bent into a hook shape and the bodkin has been bent in three places along its length, including half way along the rectangular hole, where it is bent into a right angle, presumably since it was lost in the ground. An incomplete Roman (AD 50-150) copper alloy Colchester Derivative T-shaped brooch with hinge mechanism, missing the pin shank and the lower bow and catchplate. The brooch measures 32.96mm in incomplete length and weighs 6.47g. The tubular wingspan is 18.14mm. Extremely well-preserved cast copper-alloy socketed side-looped spear of Acton Park 2, Greenwell and Brewis' Class IV, dating from the early Middle Bronze Age, c. 1600-1400BC. The spearhead is complete, the blade and socket undamaged with a smooth chocolate-brown patina showing hardly any sign of decay at all. There are only a few patchy areas of corrosion on the surface, towards the tip and around the socket. A complete cast lead seal matrix of medieval date. The seal is a pointed oval or vessica shape with a perforated lug set on a central rib along the longitudinal axis of the reverse. The front face bears a central motif of a circle with a horizontal line running through it surrounded by the legend * S'ALICIE MACTILO (Seal of Alice Mactilo) therefore representing a personal seal of this woman. The piece is partly bent, and is "V" shaped in cross-section at one end where it was broken in antiquity, and tapers to a point at the other. There is surface decoration of a single chevron of double lines adjacent to the break. A single hole 2.1mm in diameter in the edge of the frame, would have helped attach it to the purse fabric by sewing. A small cast copper alloy flask or bottle-like vessel of uncertain purpose but probably of post medieval date. The vessel, which is 35.62mm in height and 28.50mm in diameter, has a flaring rim on a long neck (13.14mm diameter) and a rounded base with clear base angle. There is a large ragged hole in the lower half of the vessel. There must remain the possibility that this object is not a vessel but a fitting of a different type.

Early Medieval copper alloy fragment of a great square-headed brooch. The fragment is roughly L-shaped, consisting of the bow and part of one side of the footplate, with a circular knob projecting from the front of the bow. Traces of gilding and simple grooved decoration are visible on the front of the bow, and the stub of a catchplate remains on the reverse. The fragment is distorted, perhaps through plough damage or by heat, for example during a cremation. An incomplete post-Medieval to Modern sheet silver clog clasp (1700-1900 AD). The clasp is sub-rectangular in plan and curved in side profile. At one end it has a rectangular hook and at the opposite end the 'anchor'-shaped hook is missing. Inscribed decoration at the front consists of a flower within a border which follows the outline shape. 20.07 x 14.62 x 0.80mm. Weight: 1.86g. 18th and 19th century clog clasps have been published (Bailey 1992: 13-17).

A sherd from a hand made (not wheel-thrown) ceramic vessel of unknown date. The sherd is a wall sherd and is strongly curved, suggesting it is from a small globular vessel. The striations in the clay are not uni-directinal as in wheel thrown pots, and instead, there are deep finger marks showing where clay has been pushed, perhaps into a mould?
