A cast copper-alloy mount of Medieval date. It is a sub-oval mount with a flat back and two integral circular rivets which are broken. The face is decorated in the form of an acorn with a double transverse border seperating the shell from the nut. At the bottom is an l-shaped knop . It measures 29.79mm in length, 14.09mm in width, 2.18mm in thickness and weighs 3.95g. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 1089).

Copper alloy with gilding Locket. Pressed metal oval back plate with five surviving bosses projecting from its edge, with an attached pressed plate, decorated with, from its outer order: a billeted edge, a granulated ring, and a central raised oval panel with the stamped image of a swallow. Gilding is retained between the billeted ornaments and around the granulations. A paur of holes of diameter 1.6mm in the back-plate may be intended to facilitate either opening or suspension.Suggested date: Modern, 1850-1900. Fragment of copper-alloy rotary key, oval-sectioned hollow shank, with symmetrical bit deeply grooved down the sides. The bit has two shallow clefts either side of a central deeper cleft, dividing the bit into two halves, and a longitudinal groove along its base, parallel to the shank. Length >21 mm, bit 18 x 7 mm. Dates to the c. 14th century.

Copper alloy furniture fitting, as kindly identified by Rob Webley. He comments 'This is from a furniture drop handle of post-medieval date'. Cast curved and bifurcated handle with a lug at either side. A cast pointed leaf motif has been given veins with a series of casually executed and intersecting angled cuts. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1600-1800. Length: 22.1mm, Width: 23mm, Thickness: 5.7mm, Weight: 5.39gms.

A cast, copper alloy artefact, probably a strap fitting linkage or similar. The object consists of three elements. The first is a copper alloy loop which is D-shaped in cross section and circular in plan. The other two elements are identical. They are flat, sub-rectangular loops with rounded corners. The end of each loop is cut and one side of each loop has been bent upwards, if pushed together each side of the loop would slightly overlap. A sheet pressed copper-alloy mount of Post-medieval date. It is cross-shaped with four equal length arms and is flat in section with the design engraved around the edge. It is slightly bent due to post-depositional damage. It measures 22.87mm in length, 22.85mm in width, 1.55mm in thickness and weighs 1.27g. It is similar to published examples (Mitchiner, 1986, no 939).

Description: On the two leaves of the fleur de lis are star perforations, there is a band running across the bottom and the fleur is designed with vertical lines.On the reverse is an oval shaped attachment, allowing the fleur to be mounted, with an oval indent in its center. Very worn, cracked and flattened - perhaps also 'unwrapped' from a more crumpled condition. Suggested date: Post-Medieval to Modern, 1750-1850. At the attachment end is a circular hole for a seperately cast rivet which is present. There is no decoration. It measures 41.08mm in length, 11.54mm in width, 3.18mm in thickness and weighs 3.94g. It is similar to examples published from London (Egan and Pritchard, 1991, no 676).

Copper alloy seal matrix, lentoid or vesica-shaped (pointed oval), with a raised rib and suspension lug on the reverse. The central motif is an engraved device of a winged and maned quadruped walking right when the pierced lug on the reverse is held to the left, but rampant when it is held the conventional way up with the lug to the top. On the impression the animal appears to have a bird's head and so may be a gryphon, a mythical beast symbolising martial virtues. The inscription is not easy to read.
