Copper alloy brooch or mount produced by attaching a backplate to a medieval jetton through means of a central rivet. Each pointed end of the flattened bronze strip has been bent around to form a loop; it seems likely that one these (bent back between strip and jetton) formed the loop for the pin and the other functioned as a catchplate although this fitting does not look particularly brooch-like and the sharply pointed ends may have themselves fastened the jetton instead to a cloth leather backing.
The jetton itself has been mounted so that the reverse cross design is facing out…
