An incomplete Late Roman (AD 300-400) tinned copper alloy spoon, consisting of the handle and most of the 'C' shaped joint between the handle and the missing offset bowl. The handle is bent. It measures 51.64mm in (bent) length (unbent c.60mm) and weighs 5.78g.
The 'C' shaped joint is 11.01mm wide and 3.20mm thick.
The handle is rectangular in cross-section behind the 'C' shaped joint (4.82x3.36mm ) and has been twisted to form a rope effect, narrowing to a worn circular-section point at the other end, 1.71mm in diameter.
