Hoard of 23 coins, four silver brooches and two silver strap-ends.
Coins: Twenty three silver pennies of Eadmund of East Anglia, covering most of the types known for this king. They were found close together and clearly represent a dispersed hoard. The lack of any later coins is compelling evidence for the deposition of this hoard being intimately connected to the invasion of the Danish Great Army into East Anglia in 869 and the succeeding murder of king Eadmund in the same year.

Roman cast copper-alloy developed T-shaped brooch with hinged pin dating to c. AD 75-150. The pin is mostly missing. There is a large transverse slot through the centre of the underside of the head, between the wings, where the remnants of the pin survive. The triangular copper alloy pin head is still in situ but the pin has broken off just behind the head. At the top of the head is a small rectangular tab with a broken, worn upper edge, possibly t…

A Roman barbarous radiate, dating to c. AD 275-96 (Reece Period 14). It is just possible that it is a copy of a Q Quinarius of Allectus with a galley reverse, but this is a tentative identification. This coin is included in Sam Moorhead's corpus for RIC.

Object type: DRESS HOOK
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Northamptonshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
An incomplete cast copper alloy object, which is probably a dress hook but possibly may be a post-medieval to modern watch winder or key. The central plate is oval, with a central circular (rose?) motif which is actively corroding. At each end of the oval plate is the scar from a projection, one which is wider than the other and circular in section.
Something similar in form, but much chunkier, has been recorded as an unidentified Iron Age object at LVPL-48AB06.
