A copper-alloy plate brooch of Roman date. This piece is a good example of the horse-and-rider type brooch. It takes the form of a two dimensional representation of a horse advancing right, a male rider seated upon its back. Both horse and rider are heavily stylised. At the front of the horse, the body, neck and head form an 'S-shaped' curve. A prominent, crest-like mane, obliquely grooved, extends outwards from the rear of the neck. Treasure case 2011 T608: Disclaimed, returned to finder.; This case is an addendum to 2010 T833, SOM-093AC3. Description: Four silver coins, two pennies and two half groats, that are an addenda to coin hoard 2010 T833. The two pennies were found stuck together by soil and the halfgroats were nearby, all in the same area as the original find. 1.
