A complete but very worn copper-alloy S-shaped strap fitting or fastener of Post Medieval to Modern date.
The S-shaped fastening has terminals which both have matching zoomorphic forms, possibly intended to be the heads of either snakes or dragons. At the centre of the object, dividing the necks of the two animal heads, is a raised moulded band of decoration. This band consists of a ring of four circular discs with a groove to the top and bottom.

Complete cast copper alloy buckle of Medieval date. The buckle has a single loop sub-oval frame with an integral plate. The loop has an expanded outer edge, forming an ornate pin rest with three transverse grooves. The integral plate is irregular in shape with simple moulding consisting of grooves separating the waisted mid section from the terminals. Complete but slightly worn cast lead alloy spindle whorl of probable Medieval date. The whorl is circular in plan and bi-convex in cross-section, with a central circular perforation. Both faces of the whorl are decorated with a design of raised lines and pellets.
The central perforation has an internal diameter of 10.05mm and does not taper.
Spindle whorls are difficult to date with accuracy. Lead whorls were in use from as early as the 10th century to at least the 14th century, but there are only two decorated whorls from good dated contexts, both of which were medieval. Th…

A corroded cast coper alloy double loop buckle of Medieval or Post Medieval date, c. 1350-1650 AD. The remains consist of a double loop oval buckle frame which is formed of a pair of D-shaped loops and a central pin bar. The pin is missing. The frame has bevelled inner edges but no further decoration. Traces of iron corrosion on the pin bar suggest that the pin was composed of iron. It measures 21.54 mm long, 16.69 mm wide, 2.02 mm thick and weighs 1.7 grams. For similar examples, cf. Whitehead 2003, p53.

A thick, plain wall sherd from a large urn of approximately 0.3-0.4 metres diameter. The exterior is complete and has a smooth finish with only a few fine grits showing but a developed network of fine surface cracks.The orangey red oxidised colour extends about half-way through the fabric which then remains dark grey brown to the interior surface. This has a leathery appearance and has been beaten to a dense finish with the larger grits below the surface causing local bumps on the otherwise flat interior . A corroded cast copper alloy Post Medieval double looped buckle,c. 1550-1700 AD. The buckle frame measures 24.66mm long and 20.16mm wide. The loops are trapezoidal,widening towards the outer edges. The upper surfaces are bevelled externally and the reverse face is flat. The narrowed pin bar has a knop at each end with the pin intact. Cf. Whitehead 2003, p80; examples dating to c. 1570-1700 AD.
