A clipped and worn Medieval silver short cross penny of Henry III (1216-1272 AD). Moneyer: probably Ledulf; London mint. North Class 7b, c. 1222-1236 AD. The obverse depicts a crowned bust facing with sceptre interrupting legend which begins at 10 o'clock; legend reads: hEN[RICVS R-EX]. The reverse depicts a voided short cross with quatrefoil in each quadrant; legend reads: [L]EDVLF ON [LONDON]. Cf. North 1994 Vol I, p223, No. 979.

An incomplete Medieval (1270-1340) copper alloy enamel and (and probably gilt) armorial shield-shaped horse harness pendant displaying the arms of England before 1340, with a loop turned through 90degrees. Almost all of the red enamel background is intact; no gilding survives. It measures 42.80mm in length, 25.89mm in width and 7.39mm in max.thickness. Weighs 8.8g. The shield is 32.18mm tall and 2.02mm thick. It is slightly curving in profile. Blazon: Gules three lions passant guardant (probably Or). The use of enamel suggests a date from c.1270.

A copper alloy coin weight dating to the 15th-16th centuries, made in Britain. The coin weight is a circular half noble issue that depicts a ship on the reverse. The weight is is extremely worn and it is therefore, difficult to see the decoration on the obverse and any more detail than the ship on the reverse. The object is dark green in colour and weighs 6.9g. It measures 16.97mm in diameter and is 3.84mm thick. For more detail on coin weights see Withers, P and B, 1994. British Coin Weights. A cast copper alloy unidenitified object of Post Medieval date. The object is elongated, circular in section at one end, and tapering to a rectangular sectioned wedge at the other. It has a suspension loop at the circular end; the shaft is decorated with a collar in the form of a wide groove just below the suspension loop on one side; further decoration is in the form of a single incised groove around the body, situated approximately half way between the wide groove and where the shaft begins to flatten out to a tapered point. A Medieval (1200-1400) copper alloy cruciform hanger for a horse harness pendant, measuring 45.47x36.16x4.85mm and weighing 7.9g. Three of the arms are of equal length; they are triangular in cross-section with flat back and ridge down the centre of the front. Each ends in a circular domed terminal with projecting triangular knop, divided from the main arm by a transverse collar with the waist between the collars cusped either side of the central ridge. A post medieval, cast copper alloy coin weight of James I, used to weigh the half angel after its revaluation at five shillings and sixpence. It is struck on a square flan measuring 15.5mm on a side and 1.4mm thick. It weighs 1.95gm. This is a little underweight as it is quite worn. The obverse carries a draped and crowned bust of the king, facing right, with the legend I R BRI. The reverse has a crown above the mark of value V S / VI D. Reference: Withers, 1995, Lions, Ships and Angels, pages 26-27.

A fragment of a Medieval cast copper alloy Spur, circa AD1400-AD1700. The fragment comprises the end of the Spur arm and its double eyed terminal. One side of the arm is bevelled and the edges of the terminal are rounded over. and the reverse side is flat resulting in a 'D' shaped cross-section. This artefact expands in width between the end of the arm and figure-of-eight terminal in the form of a moulded collar. There is no decoration on either surface. It measures 44.0mm in length, is 18.9mm wide, has a thickness of 3.1mm and weighs 5.9g. Existing metal in good condition.

The remains of the balance consist of two arms still connected to a short oval-sectioned central hinge piece (21.26 mm long, 4.40 mm thick), articulated by means of forked ends (each 6.3 mm long).
