A complete Late Iron Age/ Early Roman (AD 20-80) copper alloy Colchester one-piece brooch with tinned decoration and repaired spring and pin, measuring 39.40mm in length and weighing 5.3g. The wings, which are flat and rectangular in shape, span 11.61mm. Behind, the spring is 13.17mm wide. The spring consists of eight coils, six of which appear to be a repair and are of a different copper alloy to the rest of the brooch (and coils). An incomplete copper-alloy Romano-British brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (Mackreth Group 4, flat wing ends), dating from the late first to second century AD. The wings are broken at both ends but they appear to have been semi-cylindrical and open at the back for the sprung pin mechanism (now missing), with a rearward projecting lug at the top of the head for securing the pin cord. A cast copper-alloy bolt piece from a swivel strap-fitting of medieval date. It is formed of a D-shaped loop with stylised moulded animal heads at the corners. Although many such pieces have zoomorphic elements, the loop tends to be more rounded (e.g. HAMP-D3AEF2), with few as angular as this example (cf. NMS-6EE657). Fragment of a copper alloy late Medieval to early Post- Medieval skimmer or strainer plate. Originally a circular piece of copper alloy sheet, part of the curved edge remains and the other edges have old breaks. Eight holes were punched into it from one side in a seemingly regular pattern. All but two are full of soil or metal corrosion products. It has broken across two other holes. The length is 26.1mm, width 20.8mm, thickness 1.6mm and weight 2.07 grams. A Medieval (1100-1500) copper alloy annular buckle frame with sheet copper alloy pin, measuring 23.02mm in length, 21.49mm in diameter (internal 14.85mm) and weighing 4.02g. Frame and pin are of different copper alloys. The pin is 6.41mm wide where it curls around the frame. Below, the long edges are bent downwards to make it C-shaped in cross section. It narrows to 2.96mm wide at the tip.

A cast copper alloy buckle dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1250-1400). The buckle is D-shaped in plan and has a recessed pin bar; the frame of the buckle widens to the curve of the outer frame and is steeply beveled, giving the outer frame a concaved profile. There is the remains of (probable) scrolled and / or linear decoration on the outer edge of the frame but is too worn for further identification. There is the remains of gilding on the outer buckle frame.

A copper alloy Roman brooch, a trumpet brooch dating from 75 - 175 AD. A loop in the centre of the back of the trumpet shaped head holds the spring of 6 turns (five surviving) but the pin and loop are missing and the breaks are not patinated. There is a double collar above and below the acanthus button which continues right round the bow. The lower bow is faceted. The foot and part of the catchplate are missing and the break is not patinated. The rest of the brooch is very corroded and worn, with a mid green patina.
