A cast copper alloy Medieval horse harness pendant, dating from the 13th to 14th century AD. The pendant is complete and consists of a convexed, circular 'spoon-like' hanger with a suspension arm and loop set perpendicular to the hanger. There remains small flecks of gilding on the outer, curved face of the pendant. For similar see Saunders 1991 (Part 1) p23 no.23.

A copper-alloy strap end of medieval date, dating from circa 1200 to 1400 AD. The strap end is formed from two cut plates riveted together with one rivet at their terminal. The strap end is sub-rectangular in shape with curved ends and a lip at the terminal. The plates are open at the attachment end for insertion of the strap which would have been secured with two rivets. Two rivet holes remain on the upper plate whilst the bottom plate is broken and only one remains. Post medieval cast copper alloy double loop oval buckle. The frame is D-shaped in section with a flat back and rounded outer face. The outer edges of both loops are decorated with a row of seven lobed knops. The strap bar is narrowed with small oval knops protruding at each end. The length is 28.4mm, width 28.5mm, 1.9mm thick and weighs 2.24 grams.
The general design is similar to no.384 in Whitehead (2003: 63) but this one is much smaller and thinner in size.

Probably a transverse arrowhead, translucent brown in colour, bi-facially retouched and expediently made.
The cutting edge exhibits discontinuous edge retouch of low angle. The medial ridge has been worked and thinned to give a more distinctive and functional projectile form.
There is extensive spalling on the ventral face.
Butler (2005) illustrates a similar piece on p161, fig 67, 13.

Cast lead spindle whorl probably dating to the Medieval period, (1100-1500). The object is circular in plan and conical. It has a central circular perforation. Each face is undecorated. The object has a light brown patina. Similar examples of spindle whorls have reportedly been found in contexts dated from the Roman through to the Post-Medieval period although the majority are typically dated broadly to the Medieval period c.1066-1500.

Part of a cast, copper alloy sword belt fitting dating from 1550-1650AD. It is sub-rectangular, tapering along its length to a terminal in the shape of a debased trefoil. On each of the long edges are two pairs of opposed cut-outs, the upper pair a curved L shape and the lower pair hemispherical. The fitting is decorated with a stylised leaf formed by curvilinear grooves and has been pierced by two central rivet holes, one in the upper half and one in the lower. Post Medieval sword belt mount dating to the 16th century. The mount has a tri-lobed end with a narrowed waist underneath. This waist then expands forming rounded shoulders before tapering in width. The mount is broken in the middle and the lower part is missing. The front of the mount has floriate decoration. The reverse of the fitting is plain and flat. There is a rivet hole in the centre of the tri-lobed end. It measures 29.5mm long, 21.3mm wide, mm 2.6mm thick and weighs 5.34g.

A Post-medieval copper alloy pin with shank. The pinhead is globular, formed from two halves, which have split open to reveal a hollow centre (now filled with soil). There is no discernable decoration on the pinhead. The incomplete shank extends from a collar beneath the pinhead, from which extends a circular-sectioned pin 21.98mm in length. 16th century AD.

A cast lead alloy fragment of a medieval pilgrim badge. The object is one arm and a tiny part of the body from a cross or Tau (T shape). The arm is waisted, flaring towards its terminal which is concave. The narrower part and body of the fragment is decorated on both sides with moulded cross hatched decoration. The ends of the arm on both sides do not have this decoration, although both sides are marked with two letters. A cast copper alloy medieval harness pendant, which is square with a broken suspension loop in the centre of the top edge, and a circular rivet hole in the centre of the lower edge.
The front surface of the plate is decorated with a scalloped border within which is a square panel. This is decorated with a cross flouretty in the centre which was probable gilded. The background is enamelled in red and blue in alternate corners. The reverse is flat and covered with traces of gilding. The metal has pitted green patina.

Post-Medieval lead-tin alloy cast button. Circular in shape, with a slightly convex upper surface, a concave reverse and a narrow flat border around the edge. The upper surface is decorated with a central pellet and circle surrounded by markings. The decoration is worn and the exact design is unclear. On the reverse is a rectangular sectioned stub, probably an incomplete integral loop. It has a diameter of 17.9mm, thickness of 5.3mm including the loop and weighs 2.8 grams.

An extended end variant scraper, light to medium grey in colour, which has been uni-facially retouched and expediently manufactured.
The distal end exhibits continuous retouch with a semi-abrupt angle and is of long extent. The retouch morphology of this margin is of sub-parallel type. This retouch continues along the entirety of the left margin.
There is extensive cortex cover of the dorsal face which aids in comfort when handling.
Mercer (1981) illustrates a similar example on p135, fig59, L140 which dates to the Neolithic.
