An incomplete Roman Colchester bow brooch. It is missing most of the pin, catchplate and part of the rear hook, but is otherwise complete. The brooch has flat rectangular wings that are decorated on their front faces with double vertical ridges that have central grooves. At the centre of the wings is an integrally cast chord and spring of eight coils that is cylindrical in form and extends to a cylindrical pin that is mostly incomplete due to old breaks.
