Pottery body sherd made of gabbroic clay that weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars, dark augite and mica and is mid-brown on the interior of the sherd, with some black patches of residue, and bright orange on the exterior where the surface has eroded away to reveal with oxidised core. This 'mucky' gabbroic fabric is seen in comparable local Grooved Ware vessels, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming).

A wedge section long flake of translucent grey pebble flint with cream flecks. The proximal end has been flaked and used with gloss on the ventral surface at the pointed end. The lateral margins have different kinds of retouch with an invasively worked pair of shallow notches in one edge and another facet having semi-abrupt retouch on one edge. A tool of this form with end and side use might be called a fabricator and had several possible functions including borer, graver and strike a light. Butler(2005) illustrates a fabricator on page 169, fig 71, 10.

Pottery body sherd made of gabbroic clay that weathers over the gabbro outcrop on the Lizard in Cornwall. There are two parallel linear incisions running obliquely across the exterior of the sherd. The fabric has inclusions of pale felspars, dark augite and mica and is orangey-brown on the exterior and mid-brown with some black residue on the interior of the sherd. This 'mucky' gabbroic fabric and type of decoration is seen on Grooved Ware vessels, dating from c.2900-2400 BC (Henrietta Quinnell, forthcoming). T.G. Below the rim are some small impressions but a pattern is not obvious. This sort of stepped rim corresponds to those on other Grooved Ware vessels, particularly of the Clacton style (Manby, 1999, 61). Reverse: triple stranded straight cross fleuretty with lis in each angle within a compound 4-arched tressure. Robert Webley (FLO for Hampshire) suggests that this is more likely to be a french issue rather than an english one.

A complete, Medieval, cast, copper-alloy, sexfoil plate (c. AD 1100-1500). The mount has a domed centre and six, rounded, lobed petals. The edge of the mount is shaped to the outer edges of the petals. They are further defined by an incised, V-shaped notch between each one. Two opposing petals have circular, drilled holes for rivets. One copper-alloy rivet remains in-situ, the other hole being filled with iron oxide residue, with further iron staining around it, suggesting an iron rivet, now lost. A complete medieval copper-alloy trefoil-shaped harness pendant (c. 13th-14th century). It is decorated with a low relief design formed of branching fronds which spring from the pendant's centre and fill each of the three lobes. Between the design and a raised border areas of blue enamel survive in the reserved background. The suspension loop is lobate and extends perpendicular to the plate at the centre of the top edge.
