A Medieval silver penny of Edward III (1327-1377), minted at York. Initial mark: cross 1. Probably Series D, 1352-1353 (North 1991: 50, ref: 1157). Obv. ED[ ]NGLI[ ]; Crowned bust facing with a bifoliate crown. Rev. CI[V]I/TAS/EBO/RACI; Long cross dividing the inscription with three pellets in each quadrant.

A lead alloy spindle whorl probably dating from the medieval period. The whorl is plano convex with a thickened median rib. Both faces are decorated with raised radial lines with pellets between them. The central perforation has a maximum diameter of 9.05mm and there is a circular depression in the side wall thought to be for attachment to the spindle. Decorated whorls of this form are commonly thought to be medieval. The whorl has a creamy white patina. Diameter: 29.04mm; Thickness: 10.86mm; Weight: 33.54g. See also PAS record ID SWYOR-1F00E0.

A copper alloy annular mount of probable Post Medieval date. The object is formed from a flat band, curved round to form an annular shape, with one terminal just overlapping the other. One terminal is narrowed to an oval shape, and the other is incomplete due to old breaks. The band is about 1.8mm in thickness, and gradually expands in width from 5mm at the oval terminal, to a maximum of 8mm, except for one rectangular area, 9.6mm x 8.7mm, defined by a narowing of the band to either side. Incomplete cast copper alloy annular brooch of Early Medieval date (Anglo-Saxon or Anglian in culture). The main frame of the brooch is complete although the constriction where the pin would have rotated and the pin are missing, resulting in the brooch having the appearance of a penannular brooch. A cast copper alloy Medieval/ Post-Medieval (1200-1800) vessel leg. The wider end would have joined the wall of the vessel. The leg is flat to the front, with a decorative line at the curve. The reverse is undecorated and is no longer smooth. Traces of blackening around the foot may have suggested the vessel's usage in cooking over an open fire but the foot has been broken off. The vessel leg has a mild green and and light brown patina. Length: 23.5mm; Width: 46.2mm; Thickness: 18.7mm; Weight: 69.32g

A glass bead of probable Early Medieval date. The bead is annular and is made of opaque yellow green glass. It is 8.8mm by 5.2mm. Small glass beads like this are hard to date; they could be anything from Iron Age to modern though the yellow colour makes a Roman date less likely. Compare SWYOR-EBA265.

An incomplete cast copper alloy button and loop fastener of Roman date. The fastener consists of a worn boss, whose original shape is now indiscernible, with a central ring and dot motif. From the base of the boss an integrally cast triangular sectioned shank extends and bends at 90 degrees resulting in an L-shape. From this point a loop would once have extended being on a separate plain to the boss. This is now lost due to an old and worn break. The metal is a mid blackish-brown colour and is extremely worn.
