A lead alloy probable bag seal dating from the Post Medieval period, about 1600 - 1850 AD. The seal is a flat piece of lead alloy with a curvilinear shape. One end is a large rounded oval with a narrow neck projecting from one side at the other end of which is a smaller rounded area. There are stress marks in the patina on the neck suggesting that it was once bent here. Bag and bale seals often had two discs joined by a tab which was bent to bring the discs together.
