A very worn copper-alloy coin that has been bent to an angle of 90 degrees due to post-depositional damage. It is probably a Roman radiate or nummus of uncertain type, although both faces are illegible.

A core rejuvenatiion flake of brown and grey flint with cream inclusions. The flake has been struck from the platform to remove a hinge fracture and carries several other flake and blade scars with platform preparation abrasion visible on the proximal end.The flake has been utilised with the ventral side showing gloss where the right margin has formed a natural denticle as the flake removal has accomodated the thicker flint behind the hinge fracture. A cast copper alloy mount dating from the Early Medieval period. It is zoomorphic with a D-shaped section and two rivet holes containing copper alloy flat headed rivets. A series of triangular and chevron mouldings and transverse bars probably represent a degraded mask or beast head. It is broken at one end. The mount is probably of Early Medieval to Medieval date, about 900-1100 and of Viking style. Many Viking artefacts have been found in the same area. Compare NLM-E111C1.

End scraper. Made from pebble flint, there is no prepared platform. The dorsal faces is almost completely covered in cortex except for some abrupt retouch at the distal end. The flint has a reddish tinge to it which suggests burning or heat treatment. It is sub circular in plan and has a plano convex profile. The ventral face has not been retouched. Bond (2004) illustrates a similar example on page 132, Fig 5.118, F5 which dates to the Early Neolithic.

Horseshoe Scraper constructed on a thick flake. Sub oval in plan. On the ventral face the bulb and platform are still present. There is use wear on the right lateral edge at the distal end and on the left lateral edge. There is a small notch on the distal end. The dorsal face contains semi abrupt retouch which runs around the right, distal and left edges and terminates at the proximal end. End scraper. Plano convex in profile. The ventral face has not been retouched. The bulb of percussion and the prepared platform are still present. The dorsal face has been abruptly retouched at the distal end creating a concaved edge which contains use wear. Apart from at the very distal end the lateral edges have not been retouched. It has been made from pebble flint. Butler (2005) illustrates a similar example on page 127, Fig 51, No 2 which dates to the Early Neolithic.
