An abraded rim sherd of a thumb-decorated earthenware jar/jug of early-post-Medieval date. The fabric is red with a reduced grey core which extends through to the strip of applied thumb decoration. The rim is simple and angled outwards.Dimensions are: Height 34.9 mm, Width 41.6 mm, Thickness 11.8 mm , Weight 20 grams.

A rim sherd of a large wheel thrown earthenware bowl/pan. The rim is everted and sub-oval incross section, with crisp turning. The body is finely sanded and has an orangey/red core with a buff exterior. The internal surface has an orangey/yellow lead glaze. Probably from the Verwood kilns, circa 18th to 19th century. Dimensions are: Width 89.2 mm, Thickness 20.5 mm, Height 38.2 mm, Weight 88 grams.

Late Iron Age or early Roman copper alloy brooch of La Tene III, Nauheim derivative type dated to c.30-70 AD. The pin is missing as are most of the spring and part of the catchplate due to old breaks. Only half of one spiral of the integral spring remains, it is circular in section. The bow rises vertically from the head (spring) before bending at 90 degrees after which it has a very shallow convex curve towards the straight foot. A moulded lead alloy tie bar, 'bow tie' shaped and 85.54mm long, 41.06mm (maximum) width and 14.01mm thick. Tie bars were used to reinforce adjoining pieces of stonework. Often made from iron but occasionally lead, today tie bars can most frequently be seen in churches. Such objects are very hard to date without contextual association or information. Monumental stonework and buildings such as churches that would have required the use of ties could date anywhere from the Medieval period through to the Post-medieval periods.

A small fragment of slate engraved with vertical and double horizontal lines, forming what appears to be a type of table. There are rounded dots that look like they are part of this table but they are actually natural indentations in the slate. This slate was probably part of a writing slate, in use in schools and work places from the later 18th Century. Writing slates were available in various designs, some being lined, other divided into squares and some even with maps on them. Two possible gaming pieces or tokens. Both have been purposefully shaped into sub-square tokens. The smaller piece is made from shell, the larger from a stone flake. Gaming pieces like these are almost impossible to date; they could date from the Roman era right through to the Victorian period and possibly even later.

Part of a two part cloth seal, one disk and part of the connetcing rivet remains, the other disk and tab are lost to old breaks. The disk is stamped with a 'privy' or 'merchants' mark in the form of a vertical bar which turns into a reversed 4 at the top with horizontal cross bar below, the lower end of the vertical bar is forked and overlapping it is a triangle or heart shape. In the three cells created by the fork and triangle are the letters B/T// C (or possibly G). The design is within a circular line border. Medieval cast copper alloy single oval loop buckle frame. The frame is trapezoid in cross section with a straight strap bar which is narrowed and offset. The frame is 15.8mm long and 12.7mm wide and is a maximum of 2.6mm thick. It weighs 1.33 grams. The buckle surface is a pale to mid grey colour suggesting a high tin content to the alloy. A similar example is illustrated in Egan (2007), p.87-8, ref. 472. It is categorised as Meols type 2 and assigned a late 13th to early 14th century date.

The fabric is finely sanded, with a grey core and buff externally. The internal lead glaze is ochre in colour.Circa 1600 to 1800. Dimensions are: Width 65 mm, Rim Width 22.5 mm, Height 23.5 mm, Weight 35 grams.
