A possible incomplete cast copper alloy strap fitting. The strap fitting is formed of an incomplete figure of eight loop with a possible third loop at the base, which is only indicated by two broken terminals. The three loops appear to have been cast in one piece. The complete loop has what may be a casting imperfection on the interior edge. The object has an abraded surface. Medeival trapezoidal strap slide of copper alloy with a separate internal rivet. Strap slides were used to hold down the loose end of the strap beyond the buckle. This example consists of a trapezoidal frame measuring 13.6mm by 14.5 mm with an internal minimum width (i.e. the strap size) of 10.9 mm. The seperate circular sectioned rivet has a wide flattened head on the end projectning into the slide and is riveted through the centre of the shortest side (lower edge). A copper-alloy strap-slide of Medieval date. The artefact consists of a trapezoidal frame with a circular perforation at the centre of the inner side. The sides are generally of thin, rectangular section, the exception to this being the vertical outer side, which is wider and of trapezoidal section. The object measures 15.1mm long, 16.7mm wide and 4.7mm thick. The weight is 1.96g. Several examples of strap loops have been found in excavations in London, with this form dated to the late 13th to late 14th/early 15th century (Egan and Pritchard 1991: 233-235). The artefact takes the form of a trapezoidal frame with two internal, pointed projections, located opposite each other, a short distance in from the shortest vertical end. The sides of the frame are rectangular in cross-section and exhibit filing marks. The longer vertical side is slightly wider and has a convex outer face.
