Post Medieval (1550-1650) cast copper alloy double loop oval buckle frame with narrowed strap bar. There is a domed moulded design with cast central square and small projecting knop on the outer edge of each loop and at either end of the strap bar. The reverse of the frame is hollow at these mouldings. The pin is missing. The frame is 92.89mm long, 56.85mm wide, 3.19mm thick and weighs 35.9 grams.

Post Medieval (1650-1800) copper alloy clog clasp. It is rectangular with one hooked terminal and one hinged terminal. The main body expands out towards the hinged end, with two semi-circular knops on each edge. The clasp has a pressed design of four triangles along its length, with three pellets to either side of each triangle. It is 28.06mm long, 11.49mm wide increasing to 14.31mm wide at the projecting knops, 1.05mm thick and weighs 2.3 grams.

A distorted but complete cast silver button, circular in plan with a down-turned edge. It is decorated with two conjoined hearts with a crown above. On the reverse of the button is a complete circular loop. A direct parallel can be found in the Treasure Annual Report 2004, no. 236. This of the conjoined hearts may have commemorated the marriage of Charles II of England to Catherine of Braganza in 1662.

A medieval finger-ring, triangular in section, with an inscription in two bands around the outer surface. The letters and symbols on the upper register are indecipherable but consist of eight characters. Those on the lower register spell: +ALRLARIA which bears some resemblance to the popular invocation AVE MARIA (Hail Mary) On the inner surface are several more letters crudely incised and difficult to read: +XT(or R)OZ(?)HOII Whatever their meaning, these letters most probably carried amuletic significance. Copper alloy Cast leg of a cauldron. Tapered, and of flattened triangular section, producing a vertical rib on outer face which becomes more prominent as it approaches the broader end. The broad end is concave where it fitted to the body of the vessel. One of a group of vessel fragments from the same site and reported together, perhaps a collection intended for recycling. Copper alloy Early Medieval hanging bowl mount fragment . A flat section of a possibly circular cast plate of estimated diameter c.68mm. One surface is decorated with spiral motif in relief, connected to a further incomplete interlace motif. The fields between the raised decoration is filled with (now) white enamel. Suggested date: Early Medieval, Anglo-Saxon, 500-700. The estimated size of the object is a little unusual. An incomplete cast copper-alloy ‘initial’ T-shaped brooch of Roman date (AD 70 – AD 150). This brooch is particularly large with an overall width 47.9mm. The wings are sub-circular in cross-section and have expanded terminals. It has a copper-alloy axis bar, visible at the ends of the wings and also within a break at the rear. The axis bar is circular in cross-section with a diameter of 2.1mm. Mid-way along the length of the wings a slot accommodated an iron pin. The severely corroded loop of the pin survives but the shaft is lost. The bow projects slightly forwards at the top…
