An incomplete cast copper-alloy ‘initial’ T-shaped brooch of Roman date (AD 70 – AD 150). This brooch is particularly large with an overall width 47.9mm. The wings are sub-circular in cross-section and have expanded terminals. It has a copper-alloy axis bar, visible at the ends of the wings and also within a break at the rear. The axis bar is circular in cross-section with a diameter of 2.1mm. Mid-way along the length of the wings a slot accommodated an iron pin. A circular, cast copper alloy disc, probably the head stud from an enamelled headstud brooch dating from 75 - 200 AD. The disc is circular and the upper surface is divided by a plain cross into four cells, each containing red enamel. The reverse carries the remains of what appears to have been a ferrous mounting point. It is 10.1mm in diameter and 3.3mm thick. It weighs 0.98gm. It is similar to the studs on brooches such as number 34 on page 332 of Hattatt's Visual Catalogue.

A cast, copper alloy Late Iron Age or Roman Colchester brooch dating from 25 - 60 AD. The bow of the brooch is oval in section, tapering to a point just below the catch plate, which has broken off and is missing. An incomplete cast copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill (Mackreth 2011, Part 3, Group 2.b2, flat wing ends type) of Roman date (50-60 AD). Distributed in the Lower Severn Valley. The wings are almost complete being semi-cylindrical in plan with closed pierced end caps. The axis bar, spring and pin are lost. A small sheet of copper alloy projects from a central depression on the rear of the head of the brooch, it is possible that this aided the security of the pin / spring but is highly unusual. An incomplete Roman (AD 100-410) copper alloy Plate brooch complete with pin lug but missing its spring mechanism and catchplate. The edge is also slightly damaged in one place. The brooch is oval in shape and measures 27.72x23.47x1.65mm and weighs 4.7g. The decoration to the front (which is very thin and flat) comprises a c.2.5mm wide rim of ?worn light blue enamel (or possibly fixant for a paste or glass setting?). Incomplete Roman cast copper alloy colchester two-piece brooch. The wings are rectangular in plan with a slightly curved profile. There are two integrally cast lugs on the reverse of the brooch, which would have secured the chord and axis bar of the (missing) sprung pin. Only a very small section of the bow survives, and it has a prominant mid-rib. It is 24.47mm wide across the wings, 9.90mm wide across the bow, 13.80mm thick and weighs 4.97 grams.
