This is a copper alloy, cast 'D' shape buckle, probably of 16th to 17thth century origin. From the cross bar it has symmetrical saddle shaped extensions leading to a central, notched pin rest with three groves, resembling an 'arrowhead'. Some ferrous staining is evident on the cross bar and the pin rest, the pin is missing.

This is an Elizabeth I (1558-1603) silver hammered sixpence dated 1581; the coin is from the fifth issue. The obverse has the bust facing left with a rose in the field behind the bust with a clear Latin cross mintmark preceding the 'E' of Elizabeth. The reverse has the square-topped shield over the long cross fourchée with date above. The coin is in poor condition with heavy clipping to the rim
