The upper part of the bow and head of a Roman bow brooch, probably of developed T-shaped type. The wings are complete although the pin is missing. The wings are tubular, completely enclosing a hinged pin. The wings are wide, spanning 35.21 mm. The upper part of the bow is very angular in style, projecting horizontally back from the wings and then jutting downwards quite abruptly. On the head, just behind and between the wings, a vertical projection rises and is clearly broken. Based on other examples of developed T-shaped brooches, it seems likely that this projection would once have b…

The bow and foot of a copper-alloy bow brooch, probably late first to second century AD. Whilst the bow and foot are in good condition, the lack of a head makes it difficult to identify to a closely defined type. Based on the moulded decoration on the bow however, this may possibly have been a Headstud or developed T-shaped brooch. What remains of the bow is quite straight, with the beginning of a curve at the top. Just before this curve there is a circular knop with a vertical groove in its centre. Above this are two sunken rectangular fields with what appears to be traces of orange-r…

Roman Polden Hill brooch of flat wing ends type,of late first to second century. The brooch is badly damaged, missing the lower part of its bow and one wing.
