A fragment comprising the attachment end of a late Saxon tongue-shaped strap end belonging to Thomas' Class E, type 1. Only a small part of the body survives but there is sufficient to show that it was openwork with cast decoration in the form of branches stemming from a central trunk (in the Winchester style).
