It has a flattened bow terminal that is rolled forwards to form cylindrical wings and encase the iron axis bar. At the centre of the wings is a small rectangular slot through which the copper-alloy pin hinges. The bow itself has a flat back and moulded front face. At the head it has two moulded transverse grooves separated by a slight constriction. The centre of the bow is square in plan with side projections that terminate in globular knobs. It has moulded vertical grooves to either side, the raised central rib thus created decorated with shallow vertical grooves on each side, perhaps also decorated with vertical rows of punched dots. Beneath the square panel at the centre of the bow is a transverse moulded ridge that marks the start of the foot. This comprises a flattened rectangular panel with constricted sides and moulded ridges at top and bottom. Beneath this the foot has a series of 2 transverse ridges getting progressively smaller, before terminating in a moulded semi-circular knop. &#13;
&#13;
On the back face of the foot is the integrally cast catchplate, which is triangular in form and with a folded outer edge to accomodate the pin. The pin itself is cylindrical in form tapering to a sharp point and measures 33.81mm in length. The back face of the brooch is flat and undecorated, however traces of an added white metal coating are noted on most surfaces of the front face. This brooch measures 51.86mm in length, 33.06mm in width (at side projections), and weighs 15.72g.&#13;
&#13;
This is a complete Roman Hod Hill brooch similar to examples published from Hacheston (Blagg et al., 2002: nos. 14, 16, 19) and Parallels are also noted in Hattatt (1989: nos. 51, 53, 1505). These indicate a 1st century AD date for the current example.</description><fourFigureLon>0.493361</fourFigureLon></result><result><rulerName>Uninscribed</rulerName><denominationName>Stater (gold)</denominationName><district>WYCHAVON</district><objecttype>COIN</objecttype><county>WORCESTERSHIRE</county><created>2009-11-27T18:06:06Z</created><regionName>WEST MIDLANDS</regionName><diameter>17.97</diameter><fromdate>-125</fromdate><materialTerm>Gold</materialTerm><filename>WAW-014216.jpg</filename><thumbnail>230768</thumbnail><creator>Angie Bolton</creator><identifier>Angie Bolton</identifier><obverseDescription>Plain</obverseDescription><id>278696</id><old_findID>WAW-014216</old_findID><workflow>4</workflow><parish>SALWARPE</parish><weight>5.83</weight><imagedir>images/abolton/</imagedir><updated>2011-02-24T13:21:43Z</updated><quantity>1</quantity><todate>-50</todate><broadperiod>IRON AGE</broadperiod><fourFigureLat>52.247047</fourFigureLat><reverseDescription>Horse right, above Hobbs' misc i, below wheel, below tail wheel a, above tail pellet-triangle.</reverseDescription><description>Iron Age coin: contemporary forgery of a early uninscribed 'Q' gold - Remi type. It is missing the spring and pin due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form with diagonal grooves on the front faces. Between the wings is a projecting head that is oval shaped in form with a rear-facing hook and incised decoration in the form of two grooves that create a cross saltire on the front face. The bow has a flat back and moulded, projecting front face. This consists of a prominent conical projection with incised diagonal strokes to either side of its upper face and a small transverse notch on its lower face. Beneath this, the bow flattens and has transverse projections to each side. These have central ridges with incised diagonal grooves above and below that produce a faceted appearance. The foot of the bow is elongated with a rounded tip decorated with three radiating incised grooves. On the back face of the foot is the integral catchplate, which is sub-triangular in form with a folded outer edge to accomodate the now missing pin. The brooch measures 28.41mm in length, 17.98mm in width at wings, and weighs 6.61g. &#13;
&#13;
This brooch finds parallels in a group of Roman brooches that Hattatt terms Reversed Fantail brooches (Hattatt, 1989: Fig. 172, nos. 807-814, 1393 and 1487). These are probably derived from the Aesica group of brooches and may well be of East Anglian origin (pers. comm. J. Plouviez, SCC). The parallels to this example indicate a 1st century AD date for the current example.</description><fourFigureLon>0.493361</fourFigureLon></result><result><rulerName>Henry VIII of England</rulerName><denominationName>Halfgroat (silver)</denominationName><district>SOUTH HOLLAND</district><objecttype>COIN</objecttype><county>LINCOLNSHIRE</county><created>2009-11-27T17:46:03Z</created><regionName>EAST MIDLANDS</regionName><diameter>18</diameter><fromdate>1509</fromdate><materialTerm>Silver</materialTerm><mintName>Canterbury</mintName><filename>LIN8595.jpg</filename><thumbnail>230550</thumbnail><creator>Adam Daubney</creator><identifier>Adam Daubney</identifier><obverseDescription>Profile bust right</obverseDescription><id>278691</id><old_findID>LIN-010221</old_findID><workflow>4</workflow><parish>WHAPLODE</parish><typeTerm>Halfgroat: Henry VIII, 1509-1526 (N 1763 - 1772)</typeTerm><imagedir>images/adaubney/</imagedir><updated>2011-02-24T13:17:45Z</updated><categoryTerm>English coin early Modern 1489 - 1660</categoryTerm><reverseLegend>CIVITAS CANTOR</reverseLegend><quantity>1</quantity><todate>1526</todate><broadperiod>POST MEDIEVAL</broadperiod><fourFigureLat>52.797421</fourFigureLat><reverseDescription>Long cross fourchee over royal shield, W A to either side</reverseDescription><description>A silver halfgroat of Henry VIII, Canterbury mint.</description><obverseLegend>HENRIC VIII D G[ ]AGL Z FR</obverseLegend><fourFigureLon>-0.043639</fourFigureLon><fourFigure>TF3224</fourFigure></result></results></response>
